Training Day 3: The Office

Butterscotch!
Got into San Francisco early today for our training at the San Francisco habitat and walked around Civic Center Plaza for a bit. It was nice relaxing in the shade with my ice coffee from Starbucks.
We spent the day in a very warm 8th floor meeting room learning about working with volunteers. I never knew until today how tiring endurance sitting could be, but I don't think the hot breeze blowing through the window and sticking to the back of my neck helped very much either. One thing I'm seeing is volunteering as a way for getting the neihborhood involved and tool for accepting new families into a community.
We finished the night with a volunteer tutorial where Debbie, the volunteer service manager talked about volunteering and showed some of the families habitat helps. Butterscotch, the volunteers puppy was the star of the show.
